Description: Moqueca baiana is an explosion of tropical flavors. It’s a recipe of indigenous origin, perfected over the years and with that special touch of palm oil.
Ingredients:
500g of sliced white fish (such as sea bass or whiting)
1 red bell bell pepper, sliced
1 pimentão amarelo, fatiado
1 sliced tomato
1 cebola fatiada
200ml coconut milk
3 tablespoons of palm oil
Coriander to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
Step by step:
- season the fish with salt and pepper and set aside.
- In a clay pot, intersperse layers of onion, peppers and tomatoes.
- Place the fish on top of the layers and add the coconut milk and palm oil.
- Cover and cook over a low heat for about 20 minutes, until the fish is cooked. Sprinkle with coriander and serve with white rice.
